Saxophone Section

Josh Hollenbeck

Instrument: Alto Saxophone

Member Since: 2008

Hometown: Holiday, Florida

Hobbies/Interests: woodworking, beach, family

Biography: Josh Hollenbeck is a noted saxophone and woodwind performer and has performed with the Florida Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, The Imperial Symphony Orchestra, New Leviathan Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and aboard cruise ships for Carnival, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean. Josh has played woodwinds for national Broadway tours, including Aladdin, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chicago, Hello Dolly, Kiss Me Kate, Mean Girls, and Winter Wonderland, and for solo artists Bryan Batt, Randy Newman, and Seal. Additionally, Josh has worked as a band director for Pasco County and was the Professor of Saxophone and Director of Athletic Bands at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Currently, he works as a woodwind repair technician. Josh received degrees from Florida State University (BME) and The University of South Florida (MM).

Nick Seier

Instrument: Alto Saxophone

Hobbies/Interests: Japanese culture, guitar, fixing my house

Biography: Nick Seier attended Florida State University, where he received his B.M.E in 2019. Shortly after, he moved to St. Petersburg and taught for three years in Hillsborough County Schools, teaching Middle School Band and Orchestra. In 2021 Nick became a part of the Effective Altruism movement and planned to dedicate his career to doing good and impactful work that will benefit the long-term future. Nick is still involved with the Tampa music community performing with the Florida Wind Band and teaching private lessons. He currently lives in Pinellas Park with his fiancée.

Brian Panetta

Instrument: Baritone Saxophone

Hobbies/Interests: running, baking, traveling, research, teaching

Biography: Brian Panetta is a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education at the University of South Florida.  In addition to his studies at USF, Brian teaches music as the Director of Bands at Berkeley Preparatory School, an independent day school in Tampa, Florida, where he oversees the Conservatory of Music. His Bachelor of Music in Music Education is from the University of Dayton, and his Master of Music in Instrumental Music Education is from Bowling Green State University, where he served as a graduate assistant for the University Bands. Brian’s research interests include Inclusive Teaching Practices, Queer Studies in Music Education, Beginning Band Pedagogy, and Small and Developing Band Programs.
