Join the Florida Wind Band for Red Feathered Soul—a powerful and patriotic musical journey that celebrates the rich history, diverse voices, and enduring spirit of our nation. We’re especially excited to present this unforgettable performance at the Pasco Hernando State College Instructional Performing Arts Center (IPAC) for the very first time!
This inspiring program features American favorites such as The Star-Spangled Banner, Armed Forces Medley, and Stars and Stripes Forever, alongside soulful and historic works like Afro-American Symphony by William Grant Still and Sammy Nestico’s Tribute to Stephen Foster. The concert also highlights the vibrant talent of contemporary Florida composers with performances of Fantasy on a Theme by Edwin Taylor by Alain Rodriguez, Pinnacle Winds Fanfare by John Dupuis, and the title piece, Red Feathered Soul by Joshua Hobbs.

Join us before the music begins for a special pre-concert conversation with Florida Wind Band’s Music Director, Matt McCutchen, and Executive Director, Tony Negron. They’ll share exciting insights into our 18th season, behind-the-scenes stories, and what makes this evening’s performance, Voices of America, such a powerful and meaningful kickoff. You’ll get a deeper look into the patriotic classics and contemporary works featured in the concert—including pieces by Florida composers Alain Rodriguez, John Dupuis, and Joshua Hobbs—plus the inspiration behind works like Afro-American Symphony and Tribute to Stephen Foster.
