Ivan J. Wansley

Mr. Wansley guest conducted with FWB in December 2019. Mr. Wansley is currently an advisor, adjudicator, clinician and conductor throughout Florida and the Southeastern United States and is the conductor of the Hollingsworth Winds in Lakeland, FL.

Mr. Hope conducted with the FWB on the October 2019 concert and has been associated with the Hillsborough County Public School system since 1984. He served as an adjunct professor in Music Education at the University of Tampa and is currently the conductor of the Hillsborough Community College & Fanfare Winds community band.

Professor John R. Marcellus

Professor John Marcellus is the Principal Trombone for FWB and guest conducted on the May 2019 concert. Professor Marcellus boasts an impressive resume, most notably as the Principal Trombone player for the National Symphony Orchestra for 13 years, and Conductor of the Eastman Trombone Choir.

Dr. McDannald is currently the principal horn player with FWB and is in his second year as Director of Bands at the University of Tampa. He guest conducted in March 2019.

Dr. Sosnowchik guest conducted with FWB in December 2018. He is currently the Associate Director of Bands and Director of Athletic Bands at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Traster guest conducted with FWB in December 2018. He is the Music Professor Emeritus at The University of Tampa.

Dr. William Weidrich

Dr. Weidrick guest conducted with FWB in October 2018. He is currently the Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of South Florida.

Guest Soloists

Kevin von Kampen

Kevin is the Principal Percussionist with FWB and the guest soloist on the June 2019 concert. He was previously the Percussion Director for the University of South Florida Herd of Thunder Marching Band. Kevin is active in solo, concerto, chamber, and large ensemble works.

Dawn Hardy is the Principal Oboe player for FWB and performed on the May 2019 concert. She is currently the Band Director at Bartow Middle School and an adjunct instructor at Polk State College.

Josh Hollenbeck

Russ is currently the Principal Trumpet with FWB and performed on the May 2019 concert. Russ has a Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumental Music, and is a local freelance trumpet player and brass teacher.

Josh is the Principal Saxophone with FWB and performed on the March 2019 concert.  He is currently the band director for Pasco County Schools and is  an accomplished saxophone and woodwind performer who has performed throughout Florida, around the country, and on cruise ships around the world.

Amber Berlin Blair

Amber performed with FWB in December 2018. She currently sings with the Opera Tampa Singers and the Tampa Spiritual Ensemble. She has performed in numerous opera productions with Opera Tampa, St. Petersburg Opera, Opera Naples, Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, and the Florida Orchestra.

Amber Berlin Blair

Aaron performed on the October 2018 concert. He is currently the Principal Euphonium with FWB the Adjunct Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of Tampa, and is an active tuba and euphonium freelance musician throughout the southeast.
