Ward Green taught in Florida's Duval County for 34 years, where the last 28 years took place at Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, FL, the school where Green also graduated. Green holds the Life Member status with the Florida Bandmasters Association for his work and contributions to the music profession. Previous to this title, he served as District Chairman of FBA in Duval County and was most recently inducted into the International School Bandmasters Fraternity, Phi Beta Mu.
During his tenure at Terry Parker High School, the band program was selected for many prestigious performances including the Inaugural Parade of George W. Bush, Jacksonville Jaguars football games, the Pegasus Parade for the Kentucky Derby, concerts in the Grand Bahamas, as well as trips to Washington D.C., New York, Atlanta Six Flags, and Stone Mountain. Green has served as a judge with Bowl Games of America which included collaborating on half-time presentations for the Gator Bowl. While at Terry Parker High School, Green was awarded Teacher of the Year and inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.
Green was a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for 10 years where he played bass clarinet and clarinet. He has performed in New York's Carnegie Hall as well as Washington's Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with the symphony orchestra.
Ward is currently retired and resides in The Villages, FL with his wife Dianne where they are very active in the community. They both enjoy participating with The Villages Sunshine Strollers - a fun group of musicians who enjoy dressing up in crazy outfits, play fun music, and involve the audience in musical presentations - where Ward also enjoys directing the ensemble. Ward also stays busy by directing the Clarinet Connexion Clarinet Ensemble, The Villages Saxsations Saxophone Ensemble, and The Villages New Horizons Band which he started in 2005. In his spare time, Ward and Dianne enjoy golfing, rides through The Villages on their golf cart, and traveling around the country and abroad.
