The Florida Wind Band invites you to our first masterworks concert of the season, “How Sweet it Is,” joined by our educational youth program Autumn Winds 2023. While we take our music-making very seriously, we do enjoy a good play on words. The repertoire includes “Pineapple Poll Suite,” “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” “Love and Light,” "Suite Treats," "Pink Lemonade," and other compositional confections. This concert will feature the sweet sounds of the Florida Wind Band's principal horn, Brandon McDannald, in the Cape Horn Concerto.
This concert is in partnership with our Bay Area Youth (BAY) Winds Autumn Winds Ensemble.
Bay Area Youth (BAY) Winds is Tampa Bay’s premier outlet for outstanding students from Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Hernando counties to perform advanced and collegiate-level music with equally talented and motivated peers. BAY Winds will celebrate its 13th year of providing exceptional performance opportunities for intermediate and advanced middle school and high school students in tiered wind ensembles on this concert alongside the Florida Wind Band.
The Florida Wind Band is currently seeking sponsors for the 2023-2024 season!
Visibility is offered with sponsorships through monthly communications, advertisements in our concert programs, and promotional materials including flyers and social media. Consider a sponsorship level that reflects your investment and passion for the success of our organization’s mission.
Brandon McDannald serves as the Director of Bands at the University of Tampa, where he also coordinates the music education program, teaches courses in conducting, and is the applied horn instructor.
